Set Up IPTV on an LG webOS Smart TV, No Box Required

LG televisions run a system called webOS, with their own app store, which puts them in almost the same position as Samsung: you do not need a streaming stick or a box, because the player installs on the television itself. Models from 2016 onward handle this without trouble. Step-by-step setup

Have your AurexTV details ready
Open your welcome message and keep it on a phone, since one of the routes below is finished on a second device. Note the Xtream values, which are the server URL, username and password, and also your M3U link, because which one you use depends on the player LG offers in your country. Having both to hand means you never have to stop and go looking mid-setup.

Get your AurexTV login
Open the LG Content Store
Press Home on the LG magic remote and open the LG Content Store from the launcher bar. Move across to Apps and use the search field. This is LG’s own store rather than Google Play, so the selection and the exact names are particular to webOS.
Install a player
Search for "IPTV Smarters Player", "iPlayTV" or "Smart IPTV". IPTV Smarters is the straightforward free starting point and takes the Xtream login. The others are alternatives that some regions carry when Smarters is absent. Steer clear of anything called TiviMato or Tivimax; those are not TiViMate, which does not exist on webOS at all.
Sign in or upload your playlist
In IPTV Smarters, pick Login with Xtream Codes API and enter your server URL, username and password. If you are using the Smart IPTV route instead, note the MAC address it displays, then on a phone or laptop go to siptv.app/mylist, enter that MAC, paste your M3U link and send it. Reopen the app afterward and the channels appear.
Arrange favorites and set the language
When the lineup loads, mark the channels you use as favorites and hide the groups you do not, so the daily experience is short rather than sprawling. The colored buttons on the LG remote handle favorites and the guide quickly once you learn them. Set your language while you are in the menus so nothing surprises you later.
Set the guide to your time zone
The EPG reads the television clock, so a guide that looks an hour out is a clock issue. Go to Settings, General, Time and Date, set it to automatic, and confirm the time zone matches the US, UK, Canada or Australia as appropriate. Reopen the player and the listings should match what is actually broadcasting.
Run through the first-night checklist
Before you settle in, run a short check: several channels open quickly, the guide shows the correct programs, and your favorites are saved. If a stream shows sound with a black picture, switch the decoder in the player settings, as covered below. And remember the whole arrangement is no-commitment, so you renew or cancel over WhatsApp whenever it suits you.

This is a decoder mismatch rather than a broken channel. In the player settings, switch decoding between hardware and software, or choose the lower-bitrate version of the channel, which exists for most sports feeds and plays more reliably on LG hardware. The audio playing already tells you the stream itself is fine.

The player is missing from the Content Store

LG rotates its catalog by country, so a player available elsewhere may not show in yours. Try IPTV Smarters first, since it is the most widely stocked, and if nothing suitable appears you can change the store region in the television settings. Support can also point you at whatever player is live in your region right now.

Everything worked, then the list vanished after an update

A webOS update or a factory reset can clear a stored M3U list. If you used the Smart IPTV route, just resend the M3U to the same MAC at siptv.app/mylist; if you used the Xtream login in Smarters, simply sign in again. Your AurexTV account is untouched either way.

The app closes as soon as it opens

On older webOS sets a heavy player can run out of memory. Close every other app first, then reopen it, and if it still quits, reinstall it from the Content Store to clear a corrupted update. Where a player simply will not stay open, the lighter Smart IPTV route usually behaves better on older LG hardware.
