Most likely causes
- The channel is a 4K or HEVC feed the device cannot decode, so the audio plays while the video stays black.
- The player is set to a hardware decoder the device cannot use for that stream, or to a software decoder that is too heavy for it.
- The built-in player engine struggles with that particular feed, while an alternate engine handles it.
- The app is in a stuck video state after fast channel changes and needs a restart to recover.
- An older app build has a decoding bug that a newer version has resolved, or a power-saving mode has blanked the panel while audio continues.
Fixes, in the order to try them
Open the HD version first. In the channel list select the SD or HD entry of the same channel rather than the 4K or UHD one. If HD shows a picture and 4K stays black, the device cannot decode that 4K or HEVC feed, which is the most common cause and not a fault with the channel or your line.
Switch the hardware and software decoder. In IPTV Smarters Pro open the playback or player settings and toggle between the hardware decoder and the software decoder, then reopen the channel. Some devices render a stream on one and show a black screen on the other, so trying the opposite setting often restores the picture.
Change the player engine. IPTV Smarters Pro lets you play a stream in a different engine or hand it to an external player. If the default engine gives a black screen, long-press or use the player-selection option to try another engine on the same channel.
Restart the app. Close IPTV Smarters Pro completely from the recent-apps view, then reopen it and select the channel again. This clears a stuck video state that leaves audio running while the picture stays black after quick channel changes.
Power-cycle the device. Turn the TV, stick or box off at the wall for thirty seconds and back on. A full power cycle clears the video pipeline more thoroughly than standby and often brings back a blank picture on its own.
Update or reinstall the app. Check the store for an update to IPTV Smarters Pro, or reinstall it. An older build with a decoding bug is a genuine cause of black screens that a current version fixes.
Rule out power saving. Make sure an energy-saving or picture-off mode has not blanked the panel while audio plays. Turn off aggressive power saving, and if the black screen only affects HD channels too after a restart and update, note which ones and message the AurexTV desk so we can check those feeds.

Black screen with sound FAQ
Why do I hear sound but see a black screen?
The audio decodes but the video does not. That usually means the channel is a 4K or HEVC feed the device cannot render, or the player is on a decoder or engine it does not handle. Open the HD version and switch the decoder to confirm which it is.
Does a black screen mean the channel is down?
Not usually. If you can hear the audio, the stream is reaching the device and the problem is on the video side. A channel that is genuinely down tends to fail to open at all rather than play sound over a black picture.
How do I switch the decoder in IPTV Smarters Pro?
Open the player or playback settings and look for a hardware decoder and software decoder option, or a decoder toggle on the playing screen. Switch to the opposite of what is selected, reopen the channel, and see whether the picture returns.
Why does HD play but 4K stays black?
Some devices cannot decode certain 4K or HEVC streams, so the video stays black while the audio plays. The HD feed uses a codec the device handles, which is why it shows a picture. Using the HD entry is the practical fix on that hardware.
